FAR AND NEAR

In this art gallery we can see the works of the elderly artists who had joined the anti – French Resistance war such as Luu Cong Nhan, Mai Long and those of the painters in the 30s – Vuong Van Thao, Nguyen Chung, Dang Phuong Viet, Hoang Huong and Minh Hue. Vietnamese art has had nearly a century - old development with several intermingled generation of artists. There is a great varity of styles, from the continuation of traditional art to the influence of mordern art. The art of each painter himself while having consistancy undergoes daily changes from fantasy to reality’s contiguity with the predominance of orential charaters. It mean that artist are from to some aesthetical beauty they keep away from social conflicts and hope for a peaceful life, which is a rarity in this war – torm land full of farmine and backwardness. The real substance is that vietnamese art tends to discreet confession hidden by allusiveness: when people talk of others, they hint at themselves and froximity is often indirectly conveyed by distance in space.
